Are my files being ripped twice?

No, with one exception . The typical ImpoProof installation involves using a file from your current DFE that has already been ripped. ImageProcessor does not re-rip the file. It will down sample and re-rez the file but the integrity of the file will be maintained so that you can be assured that what you see on your imposition proof is exactly what you will see on your press sheet. ImageProcessor is capable of accepting Postscript as well as PDF. In that scenario your files are ripped twice in your workflow.

How do achieve your best in class registration?

ImpoProof uses a unique optical registration system. For every form that is proofed, ImpoProof is checking the actual position of the first side that has been printed and is constantly adjusting the second side to match. Using this method, as opposed to what our competitors are using, allows us to be more accurate because we can immediately compensate for the variables of the paper, such as stretching due to humidity and/or ink coverage.

Will ImpoProof integrate into my workflow?

ImpoProof will integrate into all currently available workflows. Usually we even have several ways to use each workflow. For example, with Prinergy, we can proof RTL files, composite TIFF files, as well as 1-Bit TIFF files. ImageProcessor can accept more types of file formats than any of our competitors.

What is the paper waste per proof?

The paper that is wasted per proof is approximately 4 inches. That is the distance from the edge of the form to the optical registration system mounted on Printer 2. Considering the significantly lower price of the recommended papers as well as the higher productivity, the four inches is insignificant.

How much paper will I waste starting the machine up?

Six inches of paper. When you start up the machine, and by this I mean every time you load a new roll of paper (300 feet per roll), you will lose six inches of paper. After that, you are printing forms and making money!
